A volunteer project on the topic of environment protection will take place in Azerbaijan from August 17 to August 25, 2025. The work will involve activities related to environment, cultural heritage, and study, discussion, and research.

Description: “Let’s Protect the Caspian” is a one-week international workcamp combining eco-volunteering with cultural exchange. Set in Baku and along the scenic shores of the Caspian Sea, this program invites young people from around the world to collaborate with local volunteers in cleaning coastal areas, learning about environmental sustainability, and exploring Caucasian culture. Through teamwork, educational workshops, and intercultural activities, participants will not only contribute to protecting nature but also build lasting connections and mutual understanding across borders. The project highlights the importance of sustainable living, environmental responsibility, and global friendship and peace.

Type of Work: Participants will engage in hands-on environmental activities, including the cleaning of coastal areas along the Caspian Sea. Work will be carried out in teams and will involve waste collection and sorting. The aim is not only to improve the condition of the shoreline but also to foster teamwork, responsibility, and environmental consciousness among the volunteers. Through joint efforts, young people from different countries will explore both ecological issues and Azerbaijani heritage in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

Study Theme: The educational component of the project will focus on ecology, sustainability, and environmental protection. Besides hands-on learning through volunteering, we will invite experts to lead engaging workshops on topics such as waste management, water resource preservation, and the principles of sustainable development. Participants will also take part in interactive group discussions and practical tasks that help connect ecological topics with everyday actions.

Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in a fully renovated student dormitory with shared rooms. All meals (three times a day) will be fully provided by the organizers. Basic amenities such as bathrooms, internet, and communal spaces will be available. The atmosphere will be simple but comfortable, encouraging social bonding and cooperation.

Language: The working language of the program will be English.

Requirements: Motivation and an interest in environmental issues, sustainability, and cultural exchange. Previous volunteering is not required. Participants should be open-minded, tolerant, ready to engage in teamwork, and respectful of different cultures.

Approximate Location: Baku, Azerbaijan. The program will take place in Baku and along the coastal areas of the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan.

Notes:

  • Some county citizens need electronic visa for Azerbaijan, which is easy and straightforward to request and you’ll receive it within 3 days. We will support you with this process.
  • We charge small fee to suppor local activities as this workcamp is self-funded by young people – members of our organisation. If you cannot pay it, it is totally fine – just let us know.
